Advanced Modeling & Simulation Development (2003 to 2010)o Created the Air Force’s 3-D finite element code for advanced thermo-ablative rocket nozzle and aerospace thermal analysis (Hero).- 7 year multi-disciplinary team effort which achieved the first code capable of restriction free erosion and intimate multi-physics coupling within the rocket industry. Code became the NASA and Air Force standard for 2 & 3-D nozzle analysis.- Co-derived the highest fidelity thermochemical ablation, thermal transport, pyrolysis, porous fluid flow and structural governing equations in current industry use.- Derived an advanced hierarchical finite element implementation of the governing equations that doubled modeling flexibility and accuracy over traditional schemes.- Investigated the viability of cutting edge schemes for simulating specialized physical models and providing unique capabilities.
