As a Business Opportunity Manager responsible to deliver projects within Shell's New Fuels portfolio, which is part of the Low Carbon Fuels business responsible for manufacturing fuels which support our customers' drive towards decarbonisation. My job is to develop a business from the beginning, focusing on the E2E value chain - from feedstock sourcing and pre-processing to production and sales of the end products - across the whole TECOP spectrum (technological, economical, commercial, organizational, political), working and innovating with internal and external stakeholders and partners to deliver the New Fuels investment portfolio to final investment decision(s).

Leading complex investigations into significant business and HSE incidents across the Shell Group using causal learning and organisational health diagnostics. Leading investigation teams to enable and foster learning throughout the organization, at (very) senior levels, for the ‘incident’ itself and beyond to prevent reoccurrence within the Shell.

Senior Manager Operations Logistics at Chemelot. Responsible for all Logistical activities at site from import of raw materials (pipeline, tankfarms, rail truck terminal) to storage and distribution (tankfarms and interconnecting pipelines) to export of finished products (harbour for chemical intermediates, C2 and C3 export pipelines and silo’s for polymers, including bagging lines and warehousing). Leading around 150 FTE by creating trust and a learning culture, by increasing ownership and accountability and by lowering tolerance for deviations.

Business Opportunity Manager of site change and improvement programme to prevent (process) safety and reliability incidents and deliver competitive cashflow by changing leadership behaviour and ways of working through implementation of lean, operational excellence, change management and organisational effectiveness techniques. Amongst others implementation of LSW and cost leadership initiatives. Member of the site leadership team.

Plant Manager Ethylene Oxide and Glycols & Cold utilities. Leading production unit (75 FTE) through run & maintain, capital project implementation and turnaround execution. Improving bottom line performance through clear targets, empowering front line ownership, leadership development and closing the loop. Member of the production leadership team.

Site HSSEQ Manager leading the department in creating the building blocks to pave the road for the site's journey towards Goal Zero, e.g. implementation of Life Saving Rules, development of safety for supervisor training. Responsible for compliance with management system requirements and relevant government and company laws and standards. Successful negotiations with environmental authorities wrt “emission bubble concept”. Member of the site leadership team and ER organisation.

Assistant Plant Manager Lower Olefins complex & Hot utilities ensuring safe operation within operating window at lowest costs, liaison between operations, support departments and business, justification of capital projects, leader of the trouble shoot team during 2006 Turnaround Event, deputy plant manager.
