The three roles roughly corresponded with changes in corporate ownership. In 1989, I joined Viking Insurance as Home Office Operations Manager. About 1996, Viking was purchased by Guaranty National Insurance. Following re-organization, I became Market Services Director for the resulting organization as part of the Product Management department. By 2000, Royal & SunAlliance Insurance purchased Guaranty National. Following another re-organization, my role expanded somewhat to become Business Services Director working out of the Information Technology department.Not long after I left RSA, the original Viking product lines were purchased by Sentry Insurance of Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Ironically, Viking was founded by the Anderson Brothers, former Sentry executives.Here's a summary of my roles with Viking, Guaranty National and RSA:Business Services Director, Royal & SunAlliance Insurance, 2000 through 2001~ System and product development project administration.~ Support software for network of 6,000+ independent insurance agents across 42 states.~ Retained functions of Market Services Director of Guaranty National.Market Services Director, Guaranty National Insurance, 1996 to 2000~ Actuarial data, pricing analysis and business analytics.~ Product management software development.~ Regulatory compliance~ In-house creative services.~ Field support for network of independent insurance agents.Home Office Operations Manager, Viking Insurance, 1989 to 1996~ Systems & procedures analysis and design. Project management.~ Quality control, including "Model Office" function.~ Policy forms, billing statements and related insurance documents.~ Print and mail functions.~ Baldrige-style development of culture/systems of high performance. -
