I utilize nearly 30 years of experience to help non profit and government organizations meet their mission and improve outcomes. This includes strategic planning, fundraising, grant writing, board development, succession planning, coalition building and program development.

As the Assistant Director of Admin and Operations at the City of Greensboro: GuilfordWorks, I spearheaded the transformation of our workforce strategy from a countywide approach to a focused "hyperlocal" model, partnering with the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. I directed a pivotal collaboration with the Guilford County Schools System, providing online technical training for parents and enhancing their skill sets. Through our robust workforce development system, we annually serve over 5,000 individuals, with a particular focus on marginalized populations. I devised logic models for various organizational departments, facilitating needs assessment and identifying lucrative funding opportunities, resulting in securing over $3 million in funding. Additionally, I successfully raised over $10 million through major gifts, public/private grants, and annual fundraising efforts while organizing diverse stakeholders to develop a comprehensive county-wide workforce system, culminating in the publication of a detailed phase 1 report. Efficient budget management of $7 million was ensured through collaboration with the city council and intercity departments. Utilizing a collective action model, I established hyperlocal groups to tackle education barriers, restructured contracts Request for Proposal processes for WIOA funding, and secured a substantial $1.6 million Federal Community Enrichment Grant for program deployment and procurement of essential vehicles. My efforts also mobilized over 30 community, government, and industry organizations to actively participate in a transformative six-month workforce system development plan

As the Director of Workforce Initiatives at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, I orchestrated a collaborative effort that brought together a diverse coalition of organizations and individuals to develop integrated services delivery programs aimed at addressing industry needs and overcoming longstanding barriers to education and training within communities. This collective effort resulted in the creation of a comprehensive phase 1 report and the launch of "hyperlocal" pilot programs at GuilfordWorks. Additionally, I successfully secured admission to the inaugural myFUTURENC cohort in 2020, furthering our educational and workforce development initiatives. Through close collaboration with the coalition, I oversaw the dissemination of surveys via the Qualtrix platform to assess industry needs and identify education barriers. Furthermore, I played a key role in recruiting 27 industry leaders and spearheading the conceptualization of a competitive $30 million Good Jobs Challenge Federal Grant proposal. Additionally, I engaged with national representatives on Capitol Hill to raise awareness about innovative workforce programming and advocate for potential funding opportunities, thereby enhancing visibility and support for local initiatives on a broader scale.

In my role as Executive Director at Foothills Family Resources, I spearheaded the development and execution of integrated services workforce programs, drawing inspiration from the Annie E. Casey Foundation Center for Working Families model. These programs effectively served over 3000 individuals annually in the Appalachian region of South Carolina. I prioritized building robust relationships with both local and national representatives, securing crucial support and advocacy for our programming efforts. Through strategic direction, our workforce program achieved remarkable outcomes, exceeding employer retention rates by an impressive 70%. Implementing a Salesforce fundraising and client management system enhanced our operational efficiency in fundraising and client engagement. Furthermore, I led a significant renovation project exceeding $500,000 to improve the facility, thereby enhancing service delivery and program effectiveness. Demonstrating proficiency in financial management, I secured a notable 60% increase in budgetary resources, raising over $8 million from a mix of private and public funding sources to sustain and expand program operations. Collaborating closely with local industries, I tailored our programming to meet their specific personnel requirements and address industry needs effectively. Leveraging a multi-article series in the local newspaper, we disseminated information and educated the public on our initiatives, furthering community engagement and support.
