We developed and delivered the information strategy and solutions for all UK customer segments.Our remit included a marketing database of several million customers; telesales and customer contact systems; the company intranet and tools to support revenue and budget forecasting and management. I was also the UK lead on a project to deploy Siebel CRM throughout Microsoft.

I designed a set of data access and presentation components that could be integrated into Microsoft’s then new desktop development tools. The resulting solutions integrated structured and unstructured data from many sources into “dashboards”. I delivered solutions to major pharmaceutical companies and a government department.

I formed Finesse Management Systems to develop Executive Information Systems on the Apple Macintosh and Windows 3.0 platforms and was responsible for design of the product set. The resulting solutions were implemented at a FTSE 100 company and overseas.

Metapraxis developed the some of the earliest PC based Executive Information Systems (EIS) making financial and operational information directly accessible to senior executives online. I joined as a graduate trainee in software development and technical support. Subsequently I moved to the consultancy team working at board level with blue chip clients to introduce Executive Information Systems. My clients included major commercial companies, utilities and a national broadcaster. To expand the business overseas I developed a partnership programme with Swedish company, Horisonten. I trained their consultants and led marketing, sales and project delivery activities across Scandinavia. Together we delivered EIS systems to several pan-European companies.

As a member of the new product engineering team, I wrote computer simulations for integrated circuits on VAX VMS and Unix Systems and manually optimised of the design of DRAM arrays.
