• A contract blast company for Botswana quarries with a monthly production tonnage of +/- 250 000 tonnes per month.
• All blasting and charging carried out by myself using emulsion and shock tubes as the main explosives.
• Responsible for the safety, health and environmental issues related to Botswana and to the high standards of the quarries serviced. Involved in training of blasters for the Botswana defence force, the police, the mines.
• Responsible for the storage, transportation and strict stock controls of explosives as required by the mines and minerals act.
• Dealt with all labour related issues and attended all safety and environmental meetings as required by the quarries serviced.
• Involved in road work blasting and trench blasting and a small amount of specialised blasting in built up areas.

Securing and importing of fuel from Botswana to Zimbabwe for sale due to the economic climate in Zimbabwe.Involved the purchasing and transport of the fuel across the border, as well as sales and distribution to clients.

• Running of a Heap Leach operation and gravity Circuit amalgamations
• As well as the running of the underground and blasting operations to supply the required thirty tons per day of exceptionally high grade gold ore.

Worked as a Mine Captain on three of Lonrho mines, How Mine, Athens Mine and Tiger Reef Mine. I was in charge of production and shaft sinking operations. Promoted to Mine Captain Shaft Sinking Western Division Lonrho. I was then transferred to Athens Mine due to the experience gained on the South African mines in mining in unsafe ground where specialized.
