Started in 1995 this is an IT company specialising in the provision of advanced logic solutions. Using an in house developed advanced logic engine as its core the company provided bespoke solutions to complex IT problems. I was appointed CEO in January 2003 with the objective of growing it organically and then preparing it for sale. I tripled its turnover before successfully taking it to market in February 2009.

Williams plc was a £2 Billion turnover conglomerate that owned over 70 enterprises including names such as Chubb, Yale and Kidde international. The group was highly acquisitive and I held the position of Group IT controller with overall responsibility for all IT within the owned enterprises was well as providing support to the central special operations group during acquisitions.

Founded to promote better management accounting. Developed and introduced Throughput Accounting as a mean of reconciling traditional accounting practice to modern business reality.

Virginia Beach, Virginia

Recruited to turn around this failing subsidiary of J Bibby & Sons. The business was an on-site engineering company providing turnaround services to power stations, chemical plants and paper mills and had operations covering all states of the USA and Canada. Prior to my engagement the business had been losing money and losses were accelerating.Within the first twelve months of my appointment I had reversed the decline and reported an operating profit of $100,000.

Recruited by the management consulting arm of Deloitte, Haskins and Sells to set up a section specializing in management consulting for manufacturing industries. The section grew rapidly under my direction and became the fastest growing within the consulting group before I was offered the post of President and CEO of Furmanite America by a more than satisfied client.

First genuine IT position. Replaced manual manufacturing and order entry process with computerized solutions on, of all things, an IBM series One (Because the company would not spend on an AS400)

Assisted with the introduction of computerised production control systems based on IBM MRP and early batch based finite scheduling bureau software (Really!)

Came straight from university on the company's graduate apprentice scheme. Was appointed Inventory Control Manager within the Foundry in Derby following leading a very successful project to simulate flow through the proposed new casting facility
