Lead Amazon S3's inbound and outbound product management teams, which includes business strategy definition, roadmap creation, product definition, engineering coordination, pricing and P&L management, go-to-market management, on-going program management, and customer engagement and support. As a part of this effort, created the portfolio strategy for S3, including new storage types like Standard Infrequent Access and several others. Additionally, we have expanded Amazon S3’s go-to-market infrastructure to more deeply engage with marketing, Sales/BD, ISV, and professional services/system integrators (SIs). As a part of these efforts, we restructured the deal desk and help negotiate several of the largest Amazon Web Services deals.

Lead the end-to-end management of Amazon EC2's pricing services, including management of the product and engineering teams (dev/ops model). A summary of these businesses is below. During this role, I also lead the Amazon EC2 Business Intelligence team for roughly 3 years.The Spot Instances service (http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/spot-instances/) is responsible for helping customers scale out their workloads by bidding on Amazon EC2's unused capacity and reducing their costs by as much as 92%. The focus of this business is transforming the innovation cycle for companies requiring large amounts of analysis/computing by building the next generation tools, features, and services that will help customers and partners building on our service consume as much capacity as possible based upon their constraints (e.g. cost, time, resources, etc). As an example, Cycle Computing was able to help one of their customers run 10,600 instances to perform a bio-life science simulation for $4,828 per hour. The Reserved Instance (http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/reserved-instances/) and Reserved Instance Marketplace (http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/reserved-instances/marketplace/) services enable customers to manage their cost and usage with pricing models, tools, and features. The Reserved Instance service allows customers to lower their hourly cost and reserve capacity by paying a low upfront fee. The focus of this group is to help customers optimize their spend and manage their capacity for Amazon EC2. The Reserved Instance Marketplace service is a third party marketplace where AWS customers can buy and sell Reserved Instances.

Drove inbound and outbound product development of nearly all major features released from Amazon EC2 such as new features/capabilities, instance types, operating systems, regions, price changes, and much more. Also, was responsible for drafting several business plans for new ideas such as what is now known as the AWS Marketplace and Amazon Kinesis.

Created the market entry strategy, designed gating features (e.g. invitation codes), and marketing materials for AmazonFresh -- the fresh, frozen, and ambient grocery service that provides doorstep delivery in Seattle, WA. Developed the marketing email targeting and generation system. Managed a pick-up location at corporate headquarters.
