David Wartmann is a biomedical device engineer at Cairn Biosciences where he is developing devices to generate next-generation therapeutics that address significant challenges in the treatment of serious diseases. Cairn’s drug discovery engine addresses the profound unmet need for new tools to decipher cellular complexity and enable scalable discovery of groundbreaking therapies. Our proprietary approach enables us to monitor multiple dynamic facets of previously inaccessible biology in live cells and fast-track the discovery of a pipeline of drugs for a wide range of indications with an initial focus on cancer. David is also finishing his doctoral thesis in electrical engineering (Q1 2020) at the Vienna University of Technology in the department of industrial sensor systems with Ao. Univ. Prof Franz Keplinger. David graduated as B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biophysics at the Goethe University in Frankfurt which included the study of the interdisciplinary of the fields of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
