-Co-developed a new blade containment methodology for metal blades with metal containment systems replacing a methodology used for 50 years. This new methodology consists of a single equation and set of empirical constants developed using statistical methods and dimensional analysis. It reduces errors by elimination of curve selection and minimizes number of iterations to obtain optimal containment system.-Applied expertise in blade containment to assess solutions for successful containment systems for multiple engine lines and applications such as CT7-8A1, T700-701K, F414 EPE, GE38 Compressor, and GE Rail Locomotive turbocharger. Authored FAA certification reports for CT7-8A/-8E GGT Upgrade, CT7-8F5, & CT7-8A1 to comply with 14 CFR 33.19.-Developed a new process to analyze containment of rotor fragments per 14 CFR 29.903(d) requirements, utilizing current design practices and analytical tools. This process is being used to satisfy a contractual requirement for the CT7-2E1 engine on a new helicopter application, AW 149.-Contributed to winning Next Generation Heavy Lift Helicopter bid by assessing and abating a titanium fire risk, conducting blade containment analysis on the initial compressor casedesign, and writing sections included in the final project proposal. This proposal, with total sales potential of up to 5,000 engines, beat out competing proposals from three major competitors.-Contributed to winning proposal for Advanced Affordable Turbine Engine demonstration program by assessing and abating a titanium fire risk and writing sections included in the final project proposal. This proposal beat out competing proposals from three major competitors.-Co-led subsection People Plan team in planning and executing team building activities once a month throughout the year. Activities included lunches, volunteer projects, teamcompetitions, and a holiday outing.
