In support of B&V's objective to take back ownership of their IT future from their outsourced managed services partner, I provided strategic direction for the entire global core IT infrastructure for on-premise server and storage environment and provided direct management to develop the new B&V department for IT Infrastructure Architecture and Support.2020- Increased environment availability through environment standardization, implementing cross site DR capabilities for Hot-Warm services through SAN to SAN replication and VM level replication, and the removal of tech debt.2019- Wrote the RFP and led the transition from a non-agile managed service provider contract to a new agile managed service provider contract that provided B&V the full authority to determine the direction and architecture of the on-premise servers and storage environments across 56 remote offices and four global data centers. - Migrated all data protection services from previous managed services partnership service to a wholly BV owned service leveraged Microsoft MARs, DPM, and Dell Avamar/Data domain.- Implemented infrastructure monitoring, alerting from previous managed services partnership service to a wholly BV owned service leveraged Microsoft SCOM, SolarWinds, Stor2rrd, and vROPs- Implemented automated remediation in alert response within Microsoft SCOM, and Ansible automation initiated from IIMSS event correlation. - Implemented automated server provisioning through the use of vRA and vRO blueprints and workflows to standardize server environments across sites.- Led the planning and successful execution of four data centers migrations. Migrated an EMEA data center to MS Azure, Migrated an APAC region data center to another that provided Cloud Express route capabilities. Migrated a North America data center across a couple of states to a new collocation that provided Cloud Express route capabilities.

Provide SME direction and efforts for VMware converged computing, Storage Area Network, and IT Infrastructure to evaluate, design, build, and implement a new consolidated Storage array pulling in services and data from three disparaged environments leveraging Axiom Pillar, Violin, and HPE storage arrays. Through evaluation, design, and implementation efforts was able to avoid operational growth costs through the re-purposing of unused storage and computing resources. Successfully designed, built, and migrated existing VMWare environment from VMWare vSphere 5.5 to vSphere 6.5. Developed road map for future consolidated storage, and compute environment based on Pure, HPE, and VMware product offerings. Through vendor negotiations and product reviews provided actionable quotes for management to execute in support of the new road map.

Provide direct functional management of a geographically diverse remote team of Windows System Engineers as the Windows Engineering Platform Team Leader responsible for the design, implementation, build, and management of over 5000 Windows servers with over 95% virtualized located in over a dozen data centers and additional locations supporting Critical and General computing requirements. Handle the procurement of physical HP servers and capital budget associated. Sole ownership for the design and patterns leveraged for all Windows based server solutions in the environment. Developed and enforced secure and hardened Windows systems through the use of configuration management tools and controls based on DOD and CIS Benchmarks in addition to internal Federal Reserve Bank needs. Developed and deployed the certified Windows 2016 patterns leveraged for all future Windows server needs both virtual and physical.

Provided direct functional management of a geographically diverse remote team of Windows System Administrators as the Windows Operations Platform Team Leader responsible for managing and supporting over 1500 Windows servers with over 90% virtualized located in two centralized data centers. Systems supported 6 of the 12 Reserve Bank resources directly in addition to critical systems leveraged by all 12 Reserve Banks. Consisting of Windows 2003, 2008, and 2012 servers. Managed major incidents, conducted lessons learned and implemented remediation plans. Coordinated business resumption tests twice yearly, ensuring preparation for disaster event.

Led cross-functional dedicated operations team that was partially remote that was responsible for managing an enterprise-wide service that was servicing production and critical production data for all 12 Reserve Banks. Environment consisted of over 450 virtualized Windows servers, more then a dozen EMC Clariion VNX arrays, and over 60 EMC RecoverPoint replication appliances. Improved team efficiency and reduced incidents by improving documentation and formalizing processes. Reduced outages by seeking root cause for incidents and taking steps to prevent re-occurrence. Managed Weekly Change process -- review, approval, reporting, conflict resolution, communication to stakeholders. Coordinated business resumption tests twice yearly for all 12 environments, ensuring preparation for disaster event. Coordinated upgrade of Windows 2008 servers to Windows 2012.In support of Executive direction to implement a Plan, Build, Run model for IT services, I developed plans and executed the dissolution of the dedicated team to move the SMEs for Storage, Virtualization, and Windows platform to separate support teams.

Provided functional management in addition to SME support to lead the team of SMEs and engineers for the Storage, Virtualization, and Windows servers to continue the project to migrate production and critical production data from the 10 remaining Reserve Banks and their branches from their older environments into a new virtualized and high availability environment located in the data centers of each of the Reserve Banks.Extensive coordination with the largest of the 12 Reserve Banks to migrate 1000+ servers as part of a data center relocation project to relocate their Reserve Bank data center.Provided functional management in addition to SME support to lead the team of SMEs and a new project to design, build, and implement a centralized site contingency solution at two centralized data centers to support the production and critical production data that was just consolidated into the 12 Reserve Bank data centers. Through the utilization of EMC RecoverPoint, Clariion VNX SAN Arrays, and VMWare Site Recovery Manager.

Took a service from Proof of Concept to successful implementation. The service and project was based on the use of EMC Clariion SAN arrays supporting a high availability VMWare virtualized, Windows 2008 environment to provide consolidated data access for each of the 12 independent Reserve Banks. Did all configuration on the storage arrays, virtualization environment, DFS (distributed file system) and the Windows servers. Successfully consolidated data from branch data centers into two of the regional banks central data centers. Extensive coordination with multiple business units within each Reserve Bank and their IT departments for the facilitation of production and critical production data from older distributed systems to a consolidated platform for each Reserve Bank.

Planned and managed multi-million dollar IT annual budget with 15 direct reports. Reduced IT operating cost by an average of 15% for multiple years through the use of automation tools and vendor contract negotiations. Facilitated the business and IT related tasks to effectively grow and contract from a 12 location foot print to a foot print spanning the entire USA in 100 locations. Produced cost analysis for accusations of new business units along with new vendor contracts from an IT and security risk perspective. Planned, implemented, and managed growth of the IT environment to a high availability scalable environment utilizing three data centers, two local metro area and one with a cloud service provider Rack Space. The growth was to support 20+ individual business units employing over 900 in industries spanning, the entertainment industry, title insurance, mortgage, foreclosure, and legal industries.Facilitated the growth of an e-commerce division from a start-up to a viable unit with strong steady sales with a diverse portfolio in consumer product sales. Created a secure and hardened environment in-line with ISO 27001 through the use of Juniper IPS/IDS systems. Juniper Network Access Control systems and Juniper firewalls and router solutions.

Designed, implemented, and managed the consolidation of the core IT messaging and user access environment from multiple NT 4 and Novel network into one Microsoft 2000 active directory domain. The consolidation and migration of seven mixed 5.0 and 5.5 Microsoft Exchange environments to one Exchange 2000 site.
