    Bethesda, Us
I conducted policy cost benefit analysis to determine the value to society of proposed policy and regulation. Most of this work revolved around consumer products including batteries, toys, mobility devices, etc. I used large datasets with millions of data points to answer questions like, if product A is banned how much societal benefit is derived, versus how much economic value is lost by the firm selling the product. regularly used sensitivity analysis such as what is the benefit of mandating a warning label or a safety feature as an alternative to a ban.

US Army Reserve Officer, with deployment experience in Afghanistan. While deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan in 2014 I led a team of 9 soldiers that actively supported over 10,000 coalition members and all of the finance needs for the Regional Command Capital within the NATO structure. As a Reserve Officer I have led over 200 soldiers in all training and recruiting tasks and assignments, ensuring full mission success. These positions also required that I communicate technically detailed tasks to subordinates and higher command levels, ensuring full comprehension for success. • Usda
    Economist
    Usda Feb 2018 - Mar 2021
    Washington, Dc, Us
As an economist I apply economic theory and econometric/modeling estimation techniques to answer questions and make projections for the future of markets. I use these analytical skills to forecast supply, demand, trade, use, and prices in domestic and international agricultural markets. Modeling for these forecasts requires in-depth knowledge of agriculture, policy, trade, data, statistical analysis, and theory. I specialize in forecasting models using statistical software for back testing and iteration, which are in turn used in the World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates as a member of the Interagency Commodity Estimates. I regularly contribute to outlook reports, USDA reports to congress, and special staff requests to assist other government agencies. Staff requests have included, analyzing the current commodity markets in order to update policymakers in the rapidly changing tariff and policy environment. I also consult with foreign country delegates to assist in their market potential. My work focused on domestic markets from Feb 2018 to Nov 2019. Currently my work focuses on International markets.I was invited to participate as a panelist for the Livingston Survey, one of two macroeconomic forecast surveys conducted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. As a panelist, you provide the Federal Reserve Bank with a forecast for a specified set of macroeconomic variables; the Philadelphia Fed then combines my forecast with those provided by other panelists and produce a median forecast and a survey newsletter.
  • Michigan State University

I also gained specific in-country experience while working with researchers in Nairobi, Kenya in August 2016 as a research assistant. In my work as a research assistant I used econometric models to answer questions about how government policy in Kenya influences farmers’ sustainable agriculture decisions. This was done by estimating models via ordinary least squares, logit, probit, multinomial logit, and ordered logit models in Stata. This work became my MS thesis, which I presented at the annual Agricultural and Applies Economists Association (AAEA) conference in 2017.In addition to this I also served as the Graduate Student Organization (GSO) prospective student chair, where I coordinated prospective students' visits to Michigan State.
