Project manager and lead developer on a year-long project to plan, develop, and deploy a replacement for the department of Disability Concerns’ aging flagship request-processing application, Nexus. Responsibilities included working closely with customers to gather and manage expectations, properly scoping and planning the development milestones using an ad-hoc style of Affinity Analysis, developing the application from start to finish, implementing an effective change management policy and methodology, and taking the project through deployment and onto the maintenance phase. Worked in the Intense Laser Physics Theory Unit where I assisted on projects ranging from decomposition based imaging to particle creation. Responsibilities included writing and maintaining Fortran applications that modeled spontaneous pair-creation of particles in a vacuum in the presence of a strong field. Created a custom visualization application to display the output of a simulation in which a tank filled with a turbid media was bombarded with laser light from one side. The goal of this simulation was to understand the path that the light traveled as it encountered obstacles within the tank.
