Burrana continues the legacy of over 50 years of development and delivery of advanced cabin system by Rockwell Collins, digEcor, Avicom and Transcom all of which came together in January 2019 when digEcor was rebranded Burrana following the acquisition of the IFE assets of Collins Aerospace. David founded the group that is now Burrana in 2009 and has led it to its current position as the third largest, teir 1, supplier of Inflight entertainment solutions with over 1,700 aircraft operating its equipment globally. David was previously the President, Boeing Australia a role he assumed in November 2006 having joined Boeing Australia as the General Manager of Boeing Services Australia in May of the same year. Prior to joining Boeing, David was the managing director of Smiths Aerospace's Asia Pacific businesses which he led for seven years from inception. Before Smiths, David worked for Qantas as a Senior Avionics Engineer for their 737/A300 fleet.He has an MBA (Technology Management), an honours degree in Engineering (Communications), trade qualification in aircraft maintenance and is a commercial pilot.David is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Believing company culture is the key to success he is passionate about creating agile and responsive organisations through empowered and inspired people sharing a common purpose, vision and values.David has held a number of non-executive positions with not for profit organisations in the mental health and disabilities sectors and is currently a non-executive director of Multicap and the chair of its strategy committee.David lives between Brisbane Australia, Dublin Ireland and California. An aviation enthusiast, he also enjoys the outdoors and will be found cycling and sailing in summer and skiing in winter.
