I instituted new technologies, such as electrostatic cleaning, earlier than many comparable organizations, which had a tremendous effect in dealing with the pandemic.During my time as Manager of Transport & Linen, I was a departmental leader in the build and implementation of the organization’s Dovetale HIS (EPIC.) I successfully oversaw the amalgamation of a sizable unionized portering group into my own, a project that had unsuccessfully been attempted by previous management. Through a constant effort of optimization, I brought the organization’s $3m linens budget from an unfavourable 5% deficit to a favourable 10% surplus within 3 years. Through data collection and metric analysis, the portering group lowered its Average Turnaround Time by 29% over my 5 years as manager.As a member of the Congregate Settings COVID Response Team, I brought my experience in Infection Control and EVS practices to inspecting, consulting, educating and managing in our Congregate Settings and Long-Term Care Home partners in the Hamilton area as they tried to adapt and deal with the challenges of COVID-19 outbreaks and Public Health orders.
