As a licensed speech-language pathologist and Board-Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (BCS-S), I am committed to advancing research, clinical practice, and education in communication sciences and disorders. With a diverse background spanning medical speech-language pathology, academic teaching, and global health initiatives, I have developed a unique expertise in rehabilitation service and its intersection with global public health.In my current role at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, I provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients with voice, swallowing, and neurogenic communication disorders. Alongside my clinical work, I serve as a volunteer assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and an adjunct professor at Carlow University, where I teach graduate courses and mentor students in research and clinical practice.My research focuses on addressing healthcare disparities, particularly in head and neck cancer populations, and developing innovative approaches to dysphagia rehabilitation. I have led and collaborated on several grant-funded research projects and am dedicated to advancing evidence-based practices in speech-language pathology. My decade long work with the World Health Organization has also pioneered global rehabilitation policy for countries expanding access to care.Driven by a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration and a commitment to mentoring the next generation of clinicians and researchers, I aim to contribute to the growing body of knowledge in communication sciences while advocating for equitable access to care and promoting diversity within our community.
