David has recently retired from a permanent post with the Care Quality Commission but continues to undertake bank inspections for them as required. He therefore currently has some capacity available and is actively considering opportunities to continue to make a further contribution in the area of health and social care.In 2006 David established his own company providing consulting and contracting services, which has employed him continuously since. His assignments have included commissioning development, as well as integration of health and social care, working for local and central government, as well as the NHS. He has also provided interim management. David is also engaged within higher education as an Associate Lecturer in social and health care management and practice and has recently been reappointed to serve on a national public body.David was employed in local government – mainly in social care - continuously between 1973 and 2006. From 1988 he was senior manager of operational services and partnerships, and later also of business services. A key player in the local development of community care David has also worked as an operational director (Head of Service) at corporate level delivering skills in change management, procurement and commissioning, and business efficiency.
