-Under a Business Guidance Contract for Services, established the Brazilian subsidiary of the world's second largest cheese manufacturer-Officially served as the client's Managing Director in country, negotiating long-term tax concessions on operations and other benefits from state and local authorities-Saved the client many times the cost of the services by abbreviating processes, minimizing start-up costs and obtaining tax exempt importation licenses for American made machinery-Four years experience in central purchasing of hotel equipment and importation, negotiating representation and distribution contracts with more than twenty foreign manufacturers

With creative methods, resigned as Managing Director for Holiday Inns in Brazil and purchased two hotel properties I had developed for Winegardner International, Inc. Implemented a dynamic program of expansion and transformation, elevating the Royal Palm Plaza Hotel to a five star classification and to the top of its category as an internationally known convention and business traveler property. Produced a higher return on the original investment than any other hotel in the country and sold the property for an amount five times the original cost per room.

As a "sweat equity", junior partner, opened the first Holiday Inn offices in Brazil and was responsible for all aspects of the implementation and operation of the first projects- Directed the efforts of seven hundred employees in five companies-Hired the initial staff, prepared market and project feasibility studies and cash flow analyses, selected and purchased the hotel sites, selected the architects and contractors, negotiated the long term financing, developed plans, built the properties and placed the hotels in operation-Structured and opened the first Holiday Inns management company in Brazil from which subsequent Holiday Inn franchisees drew their staff members.
