Born just outside of Portland, Oregon, David Zimmerman aka D.Zimm grew up immersed in hip hop music. Learning piano at a young age helped shape his early style of production to be sample heavy and classically influenced. He's inspired by RZA, J Dilla, J. Cole, Gang Starr, 9th Wonder, Moby, Lamont Dozier, Jimi Hendrix... the list goes on, depending on the day you ask.D.Zimm makes music that will inspire and thought provoke. In a world of fake news, discombobulation and sensory overstimulation, he works diligently to enunciate and make sure listeners can actually hear what he's saying.He believes this path was written, and it's starting to make a lot more sense as the days go on. After losing 70% of the blood in his body overnight from internal bleeding and a sudden onset of Crohn’s Disease in 2016, he's come out on the other side with a brighter outlook on life. Now, mentally and physically stronger than ever, D.Zimm has found solace in meditation, natural healing and spirituality. This is where he draws inspiration for his music, from the ethers and beyond. The way metal is a conduit for electricity, DZ is by design, a vessel for sharing these spoken words. This experience thrusted him out of the tech and corporate world and onto his true path of spreading knowledge, opening minds and helping people heal.
