Thomas is a Cybersecurity Partner with KPMG Canada, helping clients lead digital value creation and protection initiatives across Banking, Private Equity, and Digital Identity.Prior to joining KPMG Thomas was the CEO for Abliminal, a global software development firm focused on enablement and incubation of client digital business strategies. Alumni EY Partner and former National Leader of Financial Services Cyber Security, and Global Advisor for Financial Crime. Thomas has over 20 years of experience with global financial institutions in advisement and implementation of risk mitigation solutions including: Data Governance and Protection, Customer Identity and Trust, and Protected Analytics. Thomas has immense depth and breadth in 1st line in retail, commercial and corporate banking spaces, as well as 2nd line in Global Risk Management, and 3rd line Audit for IT, Cyber Security, and Cloud. He has worked for some of the largest private equity firms in the world, acting as key market advisor for IT and security targets, as well as due-diligence advisor for cyber security risk. Thomas was charged with the development of high-growth cyber security practices for Optiv (exit to KKR), and Scalar (exit to CDW), generating revenue in excess of $50 million. Passionate supporter of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a strong focus on Gender Equality.
