Davin was a Principal at Mercer through 2010 and provided pension consulting advice in the following areas:1) Financial Risk Management Consulting -Consult with clients on how to better manage or reduce the risks inherent in their pension assets and liabilities -Perform plan design studies to determine the costs and risks associated with different plan design alternatives -Provide guidance on the benefits of liability-driven investment strategies2) Financial Modeling and Forecasting – Developed CAS expense capabilities into Mercer’s proprietary forecasting system, Mercer Evolve™. Produce deterministic and stochastic semi-annual forecasting of pension PPA contributions, FAS expense, and CAS expense under various economic scenarios for Fortune 1000 companies. 3) Valuation – Oversee annual actuarial pension valuations that range from Fortune 100 companies to community hospitals. 4) Accounting  -Prepare financial statement exhibits required for pension and other post-retirement benefit plans including accounting for special events such as mergers, acquisitions, settlements, and curtailments  -Educate clients on emerging regulatory changes including the Pension Protection Act and new accounting requirements 5) Retention and Expansion of Business -Key member of the New England New Business team aimed at generating new actuarial clients -Member of National Pricing Team which scopes out and prices new business opportunities -Subject matter expert on Global Client Profitability tool which analyzes profitability of Mercer clients across all lines of business
