Before building 24/7 Artists, Davina co-founded House Studios – an influential recording space in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) music scenes that contributed to the success of artists like Logic, Ari Lennox, Wale, VicBlends, and Mannywellz. Here, she helped scout for acts and was the studio’s “mom”, encouraging a welcoming environment that became the safe space for many artists in their creative journeys. The studio became known for its unique business model where instead of focusing on renting recording time, they took on the tasks of a record label. Starting with just $800, Davina and her personal and professional partner, Yudu Gray Jr., ultimately led the success of the studio to an exit valuation of nearly $20 million. The studio’s work on Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 album "To Pimp a Butterfly" is a career highlight, earning both Davina and Yudu a GRAMMY for Best Hip Hop Album.Beyond her over two-decade-long impact in music, Davina is a mother of three “dragons” who loves to learn and continually help others pursue their passions.
