At Ad Hoc, I serve a dual role as a Product Owner and a Scrum Master, managing our engineering team in the build and maintenance of HealthCare.gov, the federal healthcare Marketplace. When I joined the team we had just begun the migration from the legacy platform from the first launch (in 2013) to the decoupled Drupal Content Management System backend and frontend framework that we have now. As the Scrum Master, I oversee our engineering team and sprint work, translating business objectives into written user stories, facilitating discussions with other teams, that include: Analytics & Insights, Research + User Testing, UX/UI designers,Accessibility and DevOps.I meet regularly with our client and Program Managers to align on our product goals and how we map out the work to get it done. My approach when working with others is to promote honesty, transparency, conversations based in realistic expectations. With the most and best information I have in the moment, I work with teams to make informed decisions to develop better processes and products for HealthCare.gov users.

• Plan Agile ceremonies for medium to large scale projects: assist with backlog prioritization, requirements gathering and writing, scheduling daily stand ups, sprint planning, grooming and retrospectives• Develop client SOWs including project budget, requirements and overall scope, facilitating discussions with Developers and Architects in addition to referencing estimates, results and risks from archived projects• Create budget burndown, hours and status/task reports delivered weekly to clients• Build project timelines and delivery milestones agreed upon by scrum team in order to be shared with client stakeholders• Communicate daily with Developers and Architects to understand effort for new client requests and changes as well as pros/cons and possible risks to project scope• Coordinate with other project managers and internal teams (Analytics + QA) on project, resource and scope changes in order to adjust project and client expectations as necessary • Maintain and update project details and information in all project management tools and resources - JIRA, Confluence, 1Password - to provide transparency and tracking for both internal teams and clients
