Supporting Peers In Laidback Listening (SPILL) is an anonymous and confidential peer-to-peer online support system for college students launched. Students can go to the Student SPILL website and vent about problems they are experiencing in an email message (a “Spill”). Spill operates as a complement to existing counseling services and strives to decrease the stigma associated with seeking professional help.As a mentor, I answered spills on a weekly basis through the organization's online platform. I provide compassionate, thoughtful, and helpful responses to peers struggling with an array of personal troubles.

Love English Gan is a preschool located in Tel Aviv's Afeka neighborhood. The center's goal is to build a strong English vocabulary for each child so they can continue onto further education with a strong bilingual background. I worked at the gan two afternoon's a week rotating between the 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 year olds, depending on the need. I worked on arts and crafts, reading and writing with the 2-4 year olds. With the babies, we focused on reading and playtime.

Swipes for the Homeless is a university based non-profit conceived at UCLA, but has spread nation wide. It was awarded President Obama's "Campus Champions of Change Challenge" award in 2012. The organizations aim is to help the homeless students and faculty of UCLA as well as the homeless population of the greater Los Angeles area. During my tenure on the board I planned a Blanket and Sandwich making event in partnership with Hillel at UCLA's social justice team. Students from all over campus came together to make hundreds of sandwiches and numerous blankets for the homeless. In addition to taking charge of this event, I helped coordinate UCLA tri-anual food swipe drive and other major events with my fellow board members.

I served as the Freshman Representative on Hillel's board during my freshman year. I was in charge of planning all freshman focused events and encouraging the freshman students to attend Hillel events. Throughout the year I planned multiple activities including ice skating in Santa Monica, laser tag, and a beach day. In addition to planning freshman student events, I helped with the coordination and implementation of Hillel events, attended Shabbat dinners, and represented Hillel at other UCLA functions.

In partnership with my school's college counselor I helped to found my school's community service club. The club was formed by a board of ten students who helped to implement the multiple volunteer programs in our high school. While I worked with this board to create multiple community service events each year for our high school, I was personally in charge of creating different volunteer opportunities for each grade in the middle school (5th - 8th grade). One such program included coordinating with an senior living home to have students exchange letters with a "Senior pen-pal" and organizing a day for the pen-pals to meet in person at the living home. As head of my school's community service initiatives I communicated with faculty, students' parents, and different organizations around Reno with whom we could partner with for volunteer programs. I gained valuable event planning skills after executing multiple off campus events, and working with the volunteer club board to create community service drives in the high school. As a whole, this opportunity allowed me to strengthen my leadership skills while working with a great group of peers to incorporate volunteerism into our school.

I was chosen by a faculty board to serve as my school's Student Diversity Leadership Council President for my sophomore and junior year and as Co-President during my senior year of high school. As President I implemented programming throughout the school in an effort to introduce different cultural perspectives and encourage students to take an interest in world politics and cultures. One such program included displaying the flags of each students' nation of origin in our school's atrium. This leadership position provided me the opportunity to create and implement school wide programming, work with faculty in an advisory capacity on matters of school diversity, and learn how to address sensitive issues, such as religion.

As an intern for then Congressman Dean Heller, I worked on a variety of tasks within the office. Most of my time was spent on constituent relations: talking to constituents about their needs and directing them to the right team member, helping them find the proper government resources online, and speaking to them about the Congressman's initiatives and views about bills (laws). Additionally, I answered phones, touched base with our D.C. office, often times welcomed walk-ins and directed them to the right desk, and organized inter-office documentation. I represented Senator Heller at several community events, and on occasion accompanied him to meetings in the greater Reno area.
