I was headhunted to lead the mission-critical and challenging rebranding, marketing and communications strategy to change manage Jisc from a not-for-profit and publicly funded charity into a for-profit organisation. I analysed customer intelligence, established business insight and designed and executed a strategic business model, operational planning, and customer-focused solutions aligned to a new vision. I overcame internal obstacles and senior leadership scepticism, onboarded the organisation on the journey and consolidated 42 individual branded products into one unified brand portfolio. I planned, organised and coordinated events that extended customer and audience reach and presented justifiable and demonstrable added-value that transformed market offerings, addressed funding model and opened up revenue streams.

I established and built a thriving retail business, leading all aspects from business strategy, commercial contracts, export / import, communications, marketing, sales and brand positioning and management. I was handpicked to work alongside technical subject matter experts and devise, manage and implement media communications strategy, key content / messaging and a campaign event programme for the high-profile and controversial £24.5BN Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Plant development for EDF / National Grid to win local community hearts and minds. I managed media relations and engaged with up to 3,500 local residents and associated stakeholders including C-Suite leaders, political figureheads and well-respected community representatives. I mediated community issues, set-up surgeries in five villages to communicate facts and share overall plans, and how these would impact homes, communities and lives. I umpired potentially disruptive debates, protected client reputation, created crisis management plans and ensured consistent and clear messaging and communications at all time. I delivered the programme 40% under budget and to extremely tight deadlines.

I was fast-tracked into an account manager role due to my personal performance and contribution where I owned seven client accounts, promoted products and services and generated positive revenue streams. I led and delivered multiple concurrent hard hitting and big impact campaigns for leading national law firms, Big Four consultancy companies and well-known technology brands. I utilised my contacts network, recovered and optimised advertising opportunities and secured front business page coverage in the Telegraph and The Times for clients.
