I am an environmental consultant currently serving as a Visiting Scholar at the Environmental Law Institute supporting the International Network on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement (INECE) and other projects. I continue to work with environmental licensing and enforcement agencies throughout Latin America and the Caribbean to support the strengthening of country safeguard systems to align their environmental governance programs with good international practice. I have been leading environmental training and networking efforts worldwide for over 25 years.I am also co-owner of Shardana Sailing Charters, www.sailingshardana.com, where we take clients for half-day to multi-night sailing cruises on the Chesapeake Bay. I have a USCG Captain's License for vessels up to 50 tons with a Sailing Endorsement. I have been sailing for 30 years on various sized sailboats on the Potomac River, Chesapeake Bay, and around the Caribbean.
