Summer 2025

Full-time summer research project using combinatorics, abstract algebra, discrete geometry, and computer science. Proved that for a given set of vectors there is a bijection between the strata of a real toric hyperplane arrangement and the lattice points of the corresponding zonotope.

Mathematics research in discrete geometry with Dr. Andrew Hanlon. Proved a sufficient condition on a positive integer m for every stratum of a given real toric hyperplane arrangement to contain a rational point of denominator m. This also gives a sufficient condition on m for the degree m Frobenius pushforward of the structure sheaf on a smooth toric variety to contain all possible summands in the Picard group.

Computer Science research in concurrent algorithms and distributed computing with Dr. Prasad Jayanti.
