Oversee the administration of select components of attorney regulatory compliance. Provide strategic direction and continual efficiency improvements in support of the Virginia State Bar’s mission to protect the public and regulate the legal profession. Directly responsible for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) program as well as oversee all membership requirements. Supervise a team of administrative professionals and regulatory analysts; provide training, guidance, and support with all activities; and ensure optimal service and efficiency with work processes and procedures. Provides active supervision and independent review and disposition of Unauthorized Practice of Law complaints. Develops and manages Clerk's Office budget. Serves as line of communication to the press for routine inquiries and oversees distribution of public disciplinary dispositions.

Norfolk Circuit Court Clerk'S Office

Supervise employees, while ensuring adequate staffing and training. Review daily case management reports, financial transactions, deposits and expenditures for accuracy. Research statutes and case law in order to establish acceptable office policies and procedures for civil, criminal, probate and deed case processing and compliance with Supreme Court of Virginia guidelines. Establish, implement and monitor procedures for statutorily mandated tasks. Receive, catalog and maintain confidential and sealed files and exhibits. Responsible for overseeing and maintaining integrity of Court’s funds. Served as Systems Administrator for clerk’s office and judicial staff. Responsible for interviewing potential employees and making hiring recommendations. Conduct annual personnel evaluations. Develop protocols and implement strategies for Court document conversion and oversee office-wide “paperless” transition. Assisted with training and guidance to Circuit Courts, throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, with efficiency strategies, computer programs and acceptable procedures and policies.

Norfolk Circuit Court Clerk'S Office

Court Room Administrator – Served as in-court clerk for the nine presiding Circuit Court judges. Impaneled juries, arraigned defendants, administered oaths, maintained exhibits and prepared judicial Orders for criminal trials. Served as liaison between the Circuit Court and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s and Probation & Parole Offices. Responsible for training all new in-court Deputy Clerks. Updated Supreme Court Case Management and Financial Systems daily regarding defendant status, case dispositions and court costs. Assisted local, state and federal agencies with research.
