Davison Packard Koenig is the Executive Director and Curator of Couse-Sharp Historic Site, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s operations, including fundraising, program development, financial management, and staff supervision. Collaborates with the Board of Directors to ensure that the organization is fulfilling its mission and works with them to develop and implement strategic planning, policies and procedures that support the organization’s mission and goals. Other focus areas include: Lead the organization’s staff, providing guidance, motivation, and support to help them succeed in their roles, promoting teamwork and collaboration. Oversee the organization’s financial management in partnership with the Board Treasurer and the director of operations, ensuring that the organization is financially sound. Develop and lead the implementation of a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission and goals, with a focus on relationships with high-level donors, foundations, and other potential funding sources. Develop and implement programs, particularly in the exhibition, curatorial, and associated programming realms, that align with the organization’s mission and goals, working closely with staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders to ensure that programs meet the needs of CSHS’s visitors and other audiences. Act as the organization’s spokesperson and represent the organization at public events and speaking engagements.Before joining the Couse-Sharp Historic Site in 2016, Davison was a museum consultant, specializing in the planning, curation, design, and promotion of museum exhibitions that focus on the art, culture, and history of the American Southwest and northern Mexico. With a strong background in anthropology and art, he spent the previous decade as Curator of Exhibits at the Arizona State Museum, at the University of Arizona. In addition to his curatorial activities, he also served as Gallery Director for Dada Fine Art in Tucson. Through these positions, research and the curation of over sixty exhibitions Davison has gained extensive experience with the living cultures and artistic expressions that have shaped the vibrant, multicultural identities of North America and the American West.Davison holds an MFA in Museum Exhibition Planning and Design from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, and a BFA in Anthropology of Art from Hobart College in Geneva, NY. He is married to Susan Folwell, noted contemporary ceramic artist from Santa Clara Pueblo, NM.
