QC Cell Biology

QC Cell Biology•Conducts QC testing using cell culture techniques, for viability, morphology,sterility, and functionality testing.•Keeps detailed and accurate documentation in batch records.•Maintains lab supplies for multiple labs.•Mycoplasma direct and indirect testing.•Executes robust SOPs and WIs.

Provides support to several federal and commercial contracts within the repository. Maintenance of biological specimens, samples, the placement, inventory, and retrieval of BSL-1, 2, and 3 materials stored at temperatures ranging from ambient to -196°C. Use ERP systems, SOPs, and standard precautionary procedures on a daily basis. Monitor Temperatures/liquid nitrogen levels on vessels and units. Alert repository management with observations and procedures to improve overall operations . Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed. Participate in regular maintenance activities for cGMP liquid nitrogen tanks and perform placement, inventory, and retrieval of cGMP inventory when requested.

Worked to support the Band Director, Staff, and Marching Royal Dukes on a regular basis at daily rehearsals, football games, and marching band competitions. Responsibilities included the set up and operation of university sound equipment, transporting equipment, and making ad hoc purchases as required.

General administrative duties to include mail sorting, running errands, assembling programs for concerts, and respond to telephone inquiries in the JMU School of Music Office.
