Conduct habitat surveys of farms throughout Ireland on a seasonal bases. To date I have completed over 50 farm habitat surveys. The work is being conduct as part of a larger project involving 6 ecologist. Surveying includes plant identification and field boundary evaluation grading scheme (FBEGS), digiting surveyed area using ArcGIS and report writing.

Volunteer position on the SmartGrass Project in UCD School of Agriculture, under Dr Rochelle Fritch and the senior project investigator is Dr Helen Sheridan. This role developed my core research skills in field and laboratory work. Through botanical sample sorting up to 25 a week, identification and counting.Researched literature within the area of agricultural grasslands;Field work involved botanical and invertebrate surveying, soil moisture measurements, light/area index recording.

Agricultural Environmental consultancy role included advice on agronomy, nutrient management, and soil and grass sample results. Process and submit REPs, Single farm payments and AEOS applications for clients. Further duties included carrying out environmental impact assessments, vulernaitbly assessment, mapping, and land bank management. field trial organisation and management of spray and harvest timings. equipment management and report writing. Administration role organisation of office files and data which required the use of several computer program

Kenya

Experience included experimental design and data analysis heading a trail experiment on rice production. Tasks included organisation and management of a team and the running of the project. The project ran as part of on-going research with the Jomo Kenyattea University and the National Irrigation board. The role allowed me participate in gathering of data and sampling of larger research trails, and be part of a team responsible for submitting grant applications for funding.
