My name is Davis Weston, and I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I graduated in Finance at Ole Miss. I am currently an Associate Underwriter with Burns & Wilcox based out of their Dallas, TX office. I was fortunate enough to intern for Arthur J. Gallagher's Property and Casualty sector. There, I was as able to experience shadowing commercial insurance brokers during client and prospect meetings to further develop relationships and provide risk management solutions, and evaluating client's cost of risk, alongside underwriting teams, to ensure appropriate coverages and determine cost analysis of risk management structures. I also participated in line of business trainings to understand industry specific risks in Gallagher's Property, Construction, and Hospitality practices, and developing sales strategy for commercial prospects utilizing Gallagher's tailored tools and presented strategy in mock meeting to Gallagher executives in Gallagher's Intern Regional Sales Competition. I also served as a Vendor Process Intern with Specialized Loan Servicing out of Greenwood Village, CO. I have experience shadowing branches such as Lien-release, High Risk, Escrows, Foreclosure, etc. As a Senior Finance major, I want to gain as much knowledge of the Finance field through internships that will show me what Finance consists of in the business world.
