A serial entrepreneur, who has launched three successful companies, one of which was acquired by Thomson Reuters. Currently Mr. Tashayyod in starting a new medical device company in the Skin Cancer Diagnosis space. Previously he shepherded over 40 Coulter Translational Research Program sponsored medical device technologies through risk mitigation and commercialization in a national best-practice translational research program at Drexel University. The Drexel-Coulter translational research program’s success has garnered Drexel University national recognition as well as a $20M endowment to continue the program in perpetuity. Mr. Tashayyod has stewarded fNIR Devices LLC, from a start-up company in 2009 to the premier supplier of low cost functional near infrared brain imaging systems for the research market. fNIR Devices that was started with a $40K loan from the founders and with no other outside investors or grants, became debt free and profitable within six months of the start of operations.
