Overseeing junior project managers, civil and electrical engineers, quantity surveyors and health and safety advisors. At the commencement of projects, responsibilities included design input, grid connection negotiations, technical and commercial due diligence, environmental statements and planning discharge. Follow-on work included financial closure with lenders, supply chain assessment, Balance of Plant (BoP) and turbine tendering, negotiation and project award. During the construction phase, work included contract management, change order controls, milestone completion, predicted final accounts, claims determination, value engineering, quality, health & safety control, CDM Coordination, programme management and client reporting. I was also responsible for health & safety compliance, daily interactions with the construction team and reporting to the UK Head of Construction. During an eight year period with Mowlem and then Carillion following a takeover, I was Involved in various construction projects and gained experience on a range of civil engineering projects, including new roads and bridges and wind energy infrastructure, progressing from a trainee Graduate Engineer to a Senior Site Engineer during this time.
