Bernicia is a property development, management and maintenance company providing services to over 60,000 homes throughout the North East of England. They have been providing quality homes and services to people for nearly 50 years, earning a reputation as one of the country’s leading housing providers.My primary role on joining Bernicia was to rebrand the group and its subsidiaries, Kingston Property Services and Living Spaces. This included creating and implementing a number of strategies to control and manage the brand as well as marketing plan to help promote the business.Working with key partners, we developed a new brand and rolled this across all communications including visually on over 80 vans, staff uniform, scheme and estate signage, merchandise, business stationery, brochures, leaflets and digitally with a new website. A major role was educating staff on the importance of the brand and delivering it successfully for all the businesses within the group. It was important to manage the brand for consistency and put a number of procedures in place to ensure it was maintained.Bernicia continues to grow its brand and business, build more fantastic homes and have a huge impact on the region.

Health Education England works across England to deliver high quality education and training for a better health and healthcare workforce.My career in communications and marketing at Health Education England was a fantastic challenge, in particular having the opportunity to be creative and being able to express myself through different media. My role involved the management of a number of communications, project management and marketing projects for both internal and external stakeholders. I regularly created print and digital communications as well as campaigns with multiple assets to promote medical education.I managed the corporate branding for the organisation, adhereing to strict national guidelines and policies.I was also responsible for the photography for campaigns and events including art direction, management of permissions and copyright.

The Northern Deanery is part of NHS North East where I was based within the Foundation School as a Communications Coordinator. A main focus of my activity within this post was that of utilising effective communications strategies to recruit and engage junior doctors within the North East region. I was responsible for managing the key areas of the Foundation Programme activity including the recruitment applications process nationally and locally. I also managed the digital communications within the team with an electronic portfolio for junior doctors, managing the social media and ensuring our websites were updated efficiently.

My main work was within student recruitment and helping with the coordination of team-based projects during busy recruitment periods. I frequently worked as a designer to create different promotions to attract students. Another side of my role included producing high-quality summary reports and presenting my findings to both internal and external staff. Whilst working at the college I delivered teaching sessions comprising of web design courses to beginners and intermediate levels of adult education classes which I found very rewarding.
