As a member of the Office of Sustainability and Environmental Resources within the County Executive's Office, I am responsible for facilitating, planning, and implementing key sustainability programs for internal government operations and community-wide sustainability initiatives. I also hired and mentored department heads.Effective with complex projects: • Removed impediments while protecting Town interests (zoning, historic property, state involvement, etc.) as member of leadership team negotiating contract to sell and redevelop multimillion dollar former state hospital property • Managed acquisition and sale of strategic downtown properties• Advocated and received funding from State Highway Administration, created project task force that developed a concept design to upgrade underground utilities and improve Main Street Strong fiscal management: • Led efforts to join Maryland State Retirement at minimal cost to Town• Switched from commercial health insurance to a local government cooperative and saved money• Created stabilization and capital reserve policies and fully funded reserves • Developed process improvements for grants management and human resources
