Dawn Bebe: Media Strategist, Communications Expert, and EntrepreneurWith a dynamic career spanning 30 years at the top level of national level in media and communications, I have been at the forefront of creating and developing some of the UK's most exciting and innovative media brands.🎓 Education: A proud graduate of the UK's top journalism school, Cardiff Centre for Journalism Studies, I began my journey at emap, working on iconic publications such as Just Seventeen and New Woman before graduating to help launch super glossies, Red magazine and UK Grazia.🏆 Awards and Recognition: In 1997, I received prestigious accolades, including PPA Editor of the Year, British Society of Magazine Editors Editor of the Year, and emap's Editor of the Year. I was honored to be invited by Tony Blair's strategic communications unit to advise on women's media at Downing Street.📺 Media Creation and Leadership: Beyond interviewing the likes of Take That & Kylie, I also crafted the TV series, TVFM, which ran for 32 weeks on The Children's Channel. As the Managing Director of the Hachette EMAP JV, I successfully managed a multi-million pound media portfolio, overseeing brands like Red, Elle, Elle Deco, and More!, as well as launching the groundbreaking Grazia in the UK.💼 Entrepreneurship and Innovation: In 2007, I founded osoyou.com, a fashion & social networking website, securing a seven-figure investment from the VC market and garnering PR in The FT and Independent. Later, I founded communications consultancy Onshore, working with high profile clients such as River Cottage, Visit Devon, and Urban Splash. During this journey, I co-founded Crowdfunder, which has evolved into the #1 UK crowdfunding platform, earning global recognition for its mission to bring grassroots ideas to life.🌱 Community and Sustainability: As a founding board director of The Plymouth Growth and Culture Boards, I continue to contribute to the development of thriving communities. I'm a trustee of Cornwall Climate Care, a charity telling the story of climate change's impact on communities in Cornwall.
