I worked with parents and caregivers to keep children safe in their homes.══ EVOLUTION ══ Able to provide In-Home services to families who have been identified to need ongoing services as a result of abuse or neglect. I developed case plans in collaboration with families to address the safety concerns that lead to DSS involvement. I provided support services to children and parents, referring them to community services when needed and placing children into foster care when court action was required in order to ensure their safety. My main focus was always to determine the safety and needs of children and whether there was a risk of future harm or maltreatment. My aim was to reduce the trauma that neglected and abused children experience and make a meaningful and significant difference in their lives.

I was responsible for accessing, identifying and documenting abuse and neglect cases while finding the appropriate services to enhance child welfare. ══ EVOLUTION ══ Able to identify immediate threats made to a child, I provided arrangements that complied with state and federal laws as well as agency procedures. These duties included providing support services to children and parents, referring children and families to other services if necessary and placing children into foster care. My main focus was always to determine whether a child was safe and whether there was a risk of future maltreatment. I concentrated my attention on ensuring the social, physical, psychological and emotional well-being of my clients and following one of the basic tenets of social work; the best place for a child to grow up is in a safe and permanent home.
