Responsibilities included:* Select and manage a team of people that varied in size from 57 to 110 depending on the stage of the active projects.* Manage a budget of $27.3 Million.* Negotiate and manage better than 48 contracts for professional services for 9 different vendors.* Develop, deliver and deploy the Central Data Warehouse (CDW) and a large dependent Data Mart for Integrated Credit Reporting (ICRS) purposes.* Manage the development of needed data models including: the conceptual data model to document the enterprise’s need for information; logical and physical data models for the CDW in a 3NF hybrid form; logical and physical data models for the ICRS data mart in a star schema form; and, logical and physical data models in 3NF form for 2 OLTP applications built for balance, reconciliation and control of the CDW and ICRS databases.* Direct and manage the ETL strategy design and Informatica code development for populating all of the databases.* Direct and manage the analytical reporting strategy design and Business Objects Universe and code development to meet the business requirements.* Manage the development of 2 OLTP applications to provide, adjustment, balance, reconciliation and control capabilities using WebSphere and Java.* Manage the coordination between all technical and business organizations to ensure successful completion of project.* Prepare and deliver status reports to executive management.* Interface with bank internal regulatory organizations and with external Federal regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with current audit requirements and future Basel II requirements

Responsibilities included:* Assist executive management team with the development of an enterprise data warehouse strategy.* Evaluate the work underway at Zions to implement Oracle’s Financial Services Application to determine how best to use that application’s database as the foundation for an enterprise data warehouse.* Develop a high-level roadmap for the creation of an enterprise data warehouse for Zions Bancorporation.* Conduct a gap analysis between the current data warehouse state and the desired state and prepare a detailed project plan for the next phase of development.

Responsibilites included:* Build and manage the business intelligence environment including the development of multiple data marts on a multi-vendor set of platforms using state-of-the-art ETL tools and web-enabled OLAP tools.* Build budgets, hire staff, create project plans and manage all three.* Work with the internet architecture redevelopment team to integrate the BI data marts with the internet applications in a real-time mode to capture/cleanse transaction data as it comes across the internet and append demographic data to enable market segmentation analysis.* Work with executive management to identify the key business metrics required to manage the company effectively.* Work with the business unit management to develop automated processes by which the key metrics can be provided to management on demand.* Provide training and education concerning business intelligence concepts and technologies to all levels of the organization.

Responsiblities included:* Build and manage client relationships.* Support and mentor consulting staff as they worked on complex client projects.* Develop data warehouse and/or data mart database designs.* Develop and deploy a Métier proprietary methodology used by data warehouse and/or data mart project teams.* Manage a staff of consultants with expertise in OLAP and decision support tools as well as World Wide Web technologies.* Support sales and marketing efforts to develop new business.* Maintain an awareness of the direction that IT industry leaders are moving regarding emerging data warehouse technologies especially Microsoft’s SQLServer RDBMS and OLAP product development and Oracle’s data warehouse line of products.

Responsibilities included:* Coordinate, and/or manage data architecture efforts by providing technical assistance to in-house development efforts, re-engineering legacy data interface processes, and developing a high-level enterprise view of the bank’s data architecture.* Identify business requirements for Data Warehouse projects.* Design, develop, and document data models.* Design, develop and implement enterprise Data Warehouses and/or Data Marts.* Evaluate tools and technologies for Data Warehouse development.* Work with vendors to conduct “proof of concept” projects and follow-up purchase and installation of selected products.* Manage multi-national data collection and transmission projects* Support cross training in new technologies within IS.

Responsibilities included:* Assist with sales opportunity identification, sales calls, and client planning sessions.* Develop and present targeted proposals to address client issues.* Provide technical expertise for the development of IT/MIS services and products for clients.* Provide project management as well as hands-on work for IT/MIS related portions of corporate re-engineering projects. Integrate this work with business process and organizational re-engineering efforts.* Evaluate IT/MIS effectiveness against corporate strategic plans.
