Responsibilities include taking blood (I am called the Vampire in the Practice), placing IV catheters, running bloodwork in-house, prepping surgical patients, monitoring anesthesia, taking x-rays, etc. Responsible for all aspects of dental procedures, including complete evaluation of the mouth, charting and cleaning. Passionate about pain management and overall patient comfort! Follow Vets orders to evaluate, diagnose and treat ill patients, including calculation and administration of medications and IV fluids and monitoring of patient status. Other responsibilities include buying all medical and surgical hospital supplies and medications, with focus on bottom-line profitability; planning continuing education sessions for Vets and Staff and maintenance of in-house CBC and chemistry analyzers. I also enjoy presentations to local school groups, encouraging students to follow a Vet Tech career path. I participate in regular continuing education to stay current and sharp in my field!
