Lead the federally-designated statewide domestic violence coalition for the District of Columbia by developing infrastructures that are member and survivor-driven and implemented through an anti-oppression and anti-racist framework. As a leader I utilize a shared-power management style to ensure team members have the opportunity for growth, recognition, and the space to lean into their creativity. I have the experience of testifying at local and national legislative hearings and briefings, being interviewed by local and national media outlets, and training at local and national conferences. A particular pride point while in this role is having developed a Survivor Advisory Board for DCCADV's work so that the voice of survivors are centered, utilized, and uplifted in creating policy and systems change.

Oversee the program and policy work directly serving DCCADV's mission, partners, and community stakeholders.

DCCADV’s mission is to build a community where domestic violence is replaced with human dignity. As Policy Director I work with our member programs to identify and advocate for a systemic response to domestic violence that meaningfully responds to the needs of survivors and their children.

Led the Chicago-area coalition of domestic violence service providers made up of over 75 members. While there I initiated numerous community-wide initiatives, including the creation of a domestic violence outcome measurements project that will inform future service delivery models for metropolitan Chicago; an advocacy strategy that pushed the Chicago Police Department to create new survivor-informed tools and training to use in response to high-risk domestic violence calls; the creation of the Domestic Violence Court Watch Project; the creation of a local Medical Response Collaborative that builds off of the Affordable Care Act’s mandate for domestic violence screening and counseling in healthcare settings; as well as a growing fundraising effort of multiple domestic violence agencies raising individual donor funds via a running team in the Chicago Marathon called Run Domestic Violence Out of Town.
