Duties include all basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs to public housing apartments and public space: installation of light fixtures, electrical outlets and switches, cutting and installation of pipe under kitchen and bathroom sinks, installation, repair and replacement of toilets, basin sinks and medicine cabinets, repair and replacement of windows, repair and replacement of apartment locks and cylinders, basement and apartment drain cleaning, repair of refrigerators and stoves and any tasks designed to care for the health and safety of the tenant population.

Helper to a maintenance worker as part of a mobile maintenance team working through the night to make emergency repairs at various NYCHA developments.

Assisted maintenance staff with apartment and public space repairs.

Helper to maintenance staff at several NYCHA developments. Learned hands on skills including bowl lifts, clearing basement stoppages, floor tile replacement, clearing tub and toilet stoppages, repairing and replacing locks and faucet, showerhead and shower rod replacement.
