I am a professionally trained Interior Designer with a FIDER accredited BFA in Interior Design from Iowa State University, and I have over 20 years of experience in the Building and Design Industry.My career work is varied from my start in South Florida designing restaurant and department store interiors to my most recent opportunity as a Project Sales Consultant for Lerdahl | Inspired Workplace Interiors. I got the taste of selling my talents over the last 5 years working full-time along my very talented Artist/Artisan husband redesigning transitional to modern residential homes as part owner of Eikamp Arts. I've worked for two very different, yet wonderful, Architecture and Design Firms that I attribute much of the design knowledge I have today. The first is Cuningham Group Architecture in Minneapolis MN. It was there that I learned about telling a "story" through design. Working on projects for Disney and casino resorts that required heavy theming takes interior design and your imagination to another level. I also came to lead a team of Interior Designers on many projects which taught me the importance of design roles, responsibility, communication and team building.6 years later I found myself in a different world as I was hired by an Architect with a love for Historic Buildings. It was at Jeff Morton Associates that I was able to really start to hone my skills and understand an entire design project from start to finish. The projects were of buildings from my past...my hometown of Dubuque where my heart very much is now. I have been involved with so many wonderful building owners, developers and contractors who have taught me to appreciate a city's history by rebuilding for the future. In Dubuque these projects include The Star Restaurant (RIP), The Roshek Building, Cafe Manna Java, Body and Soul, Premier Bank, Heartland Financial, The Caradco Building, DBQ Food Coop., Greater Dubuque Development Corporation, Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque and Brazen Restaurant...........to name a few. I am excited about my new industry role with Lerdahl. As I open their new office in Dubuque Iowa, I look forward to introducing them to this beautiful city and the quality design work that is happening here!
