Dawn is in long term recovery since 1986. In 1995 she opened the women’s houses at Recovery Zone, www.recoveryzones.com, bringing the women a vast amount of experience, knowledge and commitment. These ingredients allow Dawn to provide a unique environment for the residents to grow, change and solidify their commitment to and support of one another. Success has been achieved by many of her residents. Many of the women stay in touch and remain abstinent, living productive healthy lives. Dawn is living proof that the rewards of recovery are beyond our wildest dreams.In 2010 to 2014 she went to work as a Recovery Care Coordinator for the Department of Children and Families services in their Substance Abuse and Mental Health division. She worked for the federal program called “Access To Recovery” (ATR) as their ATR Care Coordinator for all of Palm Beach County. The grant ended at the end of 2014.In 2006 to 2011 her and her husband, Dr. Harold Jonas opened “KoffeeOkee” a sober venue for the recovering community that included live entertainment, karaoke and open mic, providing the community with the opportunity to learn to socialize without the use of substances.In 2008 to 2012 she helped develop Temple Beth El‘s Addictions Support Team, implementing programs for congregants. She was an active member of SCRRA the South County Recovery Residence Assoc. since the start in 2002. Since 2009 - 2014 she volunteered every year for the National Recovery Month celebration in Palm Beach County. In 2013 to present she has been on a convention committee for a 12 step anonymous fellowship as a fundraising chairperson, hotel liaison and presently helping out temporarily as the Chairperson for next year's convention.
