Identifies program areas where the quality of services, staff productivity or efficiency needing improvement. Use program and staff data to inform the content and design of training intervention strategies that address specific knowledge and skill development targeted to improve performance. Provide appropriate follow up support to implement new learning and support staff evaluation results. Provide input with individual staff career development. To provide input and support in the Step Up to Quality process for our centers/agency.

Supervises Head Start Center education staff and coordinates center activities with the Area Manager to ensure compliance with state regulations and federal Head Start Performance Standards; Coordinates (with center education staff) the completion of pre-admission process to ensure that child enrollment is confirmed and attendance begins in a timely manner; Observes and supervises teaching staff, in both Head Start and Early Head Start, in the classroom on an ongoing basis to ensure performance standards and license requirements are met.

Plans, prepares and conducts activities to create a nurturing learning environment and provide children with classroom experiences that enrich social, cognitive, physical and emotional development utilizing appropriate early childhood education practices. Implements procedures for ongoing observations utilizing outcome data related to child performance; Responsible for recording and evaluating children’s growth and development to ensure that appropriate activities are planned and executed to meet individual needs.

Assists with the daily operation of week long summer nature adventure day camp programs for 13-30 children designed to provide quality outdoor activities that promote environmental awareness and familiarity with natural settings.Directs activities of 8 to 10 campers, serving as their counselor and leader; involves all members of the group in activities; promotes spirit and enthusiasm throughout the day camp experience. Provides leadership in one or more program activities ensuring a high quality program; assists with and participates in camp-wide activities as required.Participates in staff meetings and training; may supervise activities of volunteers and/or interns in assigned group.Guides and directs assigned campers in a variety of camp activities; increases campers’ understanding of the environment; sets a good example for campers, and encourages respect for personal property, camp equipment and facilities.
