- oversee all staff, programs and collections for a public library department serving youth ages 0-10 including a youth outreach program- responsible for public library staff training, evaluation and scheduling; this includes posting available jobs, interviewing and hiring for positions within the Children's Department (also participated in the interview/selection of the Lib III Adult supervisor)- responsible for all departmental budgeting & reconciliation- development and implementation of yearly Summer Reading Programs for the past 7 years as well as a Winter Reading Program for the past 2 years- currently working on a large collaboration project with the Thompson School District and the University of Northern Colorado to implement a Kids Read project for parents and their kids who are struggling readers- member of the library’s supervisory team which determines operating procedures, library policies and budget matters. We are currently redoing LPL's strategic plan as well as a Priority Based Budgeting plan mandated by the city- serving as the public library’s community liaison for a variety of activities in Loveland – Battle of the Books, Loveland Children’s Day, Halloween Fun Fest, and numerous events sponsored by Friends of the Library- experience with conference presentations including a 2010 presentation for the Early Childhood Council of Larimer County- served on the strategic planning committee for library’s recent renovation project that doubled the size of the Children's Department- creation/management of the library’s Facebook page & Twitter feed and more recently a dedicated Children's Department page- management of special projects including an LSTA grant focused on collaboration of the library's youth outreach program and Loveland's low-income housing department, a United Way grant focused on preventing "summer slide", and a grant from the State of Colorado to upgrade the existing early literacy collection of circulating materials
