I was hired at DSHA as a Housing Finance Manager and promoted to this role within the first year. During my tenure, I directed daily operations for our Mortgage Lending and Foreclosure Prevention programs. This included establishing and maintaining key partnerships (such as finance organizations with mortgage-backed securities settlement pools); researching economic simulation models, pending policy and legislation, and market conditions to determine potential implications; and supervising a diverse team of loan personnel and administrative staff. Selected Accomplishments:• Transformed the organization to a paperless environment in response to COVID, which empowered the team to work remotely during the public health emergency and enabled a quick transition between onsite, remote, and hybrid models. • Responded to the pandemic by launching Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention and Rental Assistance programs to support customers, including hiring temporary teams and securing support from vendors. • Maintained open lines of communication with key partners, including lenders, loan servicers, real estate teams, Council on Housing, local nonprofits, and other public and private sector stakeholders. • Created systems to track data and ensure all projects and program deliverables were on time and within budget. • Managed employee relations and resolved conflicts between team members, shaping a collaborative and positive culture that championed each individual’s strengths. • Mentored and coached employees to encourage motivation and professional development, including providing feedback during weekly 1-to-1s. • Increased YOY production, closing more than 2300 loans in 2021 alone.

• Named to Board of Directors first as Secretary and then Acting President, leading mission of nonprofit to keep low-income homeowners in their homes and assist with projects such as heating, repairs, etc. • Served for four years on Fundraising & Events Committee responsible for generating support from community.

During this time, I guided homebuyers through the mortgage lending process by outlining the financial and document requirements for loans, acting as their advocate in conversations with internal teams, and providing updates on changes or issues related to files. By leveraging my previous experience in the real estate world, I assisted customers in understanding the appraisal and contract process, evaluated title work, and communicated with legal counsel as needed. I was recognized for my leadership by engaging directly with the New Castle County Board of Realtors, earning two Service Awards from the Board of Directors and an Affiliate of the Year Award as a result.

I was in the real estate and lending industry during a major period of upheaval. I was working with White Oaks Homes as a New Home Construction Real Estate Agent and Senior Mortgage Loan Consultant for several companies that went through periods of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Once that stabilized, Wells Fargo remained steady, and in this role, I communicated with borrowers through the entire loan process from application and approval through loan closing. I evaluated documentation for underwriting to ensure compliance with all regulations; explained complicated processes and financial requirements to customers; and maintained my loan pipeline and tracked status updates to ensure timely resolution of issues..
