Thirty-two years working with families, children, high-risk youth, persons with mental illness, and public health. Settings include private practice, state agencies - Texas and Georgia, public education, and higher education. History of placement and supervision of US State Dept scholarship exchange programs, including FLEX, YES, and SMYLE (former Soviet bloc students, Muslim students, and Syrian students) for ten years with several exchange organizations. To help continue the practice of social work, field placement supervision and faculty liaison & seminar supervision through New Mexico State University School of Social Work has been provided since 1999. Several innovative placements have been developed through this supervision. Dual master's degrees in Education/Guidance & Counseling (Stephen F Austin State University) and Social Work (University of Georgia) allow for work in a wide variety of settings. Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New Mexico, #M0426. Educator certifications held as Guidance Counselor K-12 and School Social Worker K-12 in New Mexico. Fourteen years experience teaching Introduction to Social Work, History of Social Policy, and Sociology (New Mexico State University and Central Texas College). Recent certifications earned in TESOL, teaching science English, teaching business English. Community service includes board memberships in public health (Georgia), domestic violence (Georgia and New Mexico), non-profit housing (Georgia and New Mexico), adults with developmental delays (New Mexico), and adolescent maternity (Georgia). Public service includes county political party chair and candidacies for New Mexico House of Representatives and state party secretary. Research includes rural sexual abuse and NGRI males in community-based residential treatment. Future plans include teaching abroad at the post-secondary level or community-based TESOL.
