Golden Rule Broadcasting, (GRB), is a faith based 501 c 3 non profit corporation utilizing strategic broadcast, communication & music therapy to reach vulnerable people groups that are typically isolated, un reached & under served. Domestically, GRB serves "the forgotten demographic" of seniors ages 60 years +plus through four program areas: The Senior Inspirational Channel, Certified Music Therapy, Communication Devices and Comfort Basket Outreaches. GRB exclusively serves those at or below poverty with our Comfort Basket Outreaches by providing everyday essentials like soap, laundry, toiletries, clothing & items not eligible for food stamp use. GRB's Comfort Basket Outreach was expanded in 2005 with the large number of senior refugees that flooded into Houston during Hurricanes Rita & Katrina. GRB was also on hand with needed basic necessities for Hurricane Ike. 2017's Hurricane Harvey was so extensive that GRB expended our disaster relief to anyone over the age of 50 years & served relocated seniors throughout the state of Texas. In 2018 GRB reached 1,082 seniors in the Houston area relying heavily on 52 volunteers & over 450 volunteer hours. Golden Rule Broadcasting is the only resource in the United States that uniquely reaches seniors in long-term healthcare facilities through a private television channel directly to their room. All four domestic programs provide services directly to the senior, thus overcoming one of the major senior issues of transportation. GRB strives to improve the independence, wellness and lives of seniors throughout the US. Internationally, GRB partners with Love Botswana to reach at risk youth in Sub Saharan Africa, particularly sparsely populated Botswana where pandemic diseases including HIV/AIDS affects 40% of the population. A male in Botswana is considered a senior at 25 years of age.
