Responsibility for the end to end Finance function within this growing design and manufacturing company.

Management of a portfolio of clients including start ups, SME's and individuals across a range of disciplines and industries.Working closely with founders, finance directors, entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses ranging from start ups to medium sized entities, I delivered professional advice that ensured that Wellers' clients were able to grow their business and achieve their goals.As well as statutory compliance work in the fields of accounting and tax, I was responsible for planning and delivering audit services to a number of clients, assessing the effectiveness of their finance function and providing recommendations to achieve efficiencies. My work also included supplying tax advice to ensure organisations and their owners were adherent with the relevant tax legislation whilst also mitigating their liabilities.Based in the South East and established 70 years ago, Wellers have four offices covering London and Oxfordshire and provide a comprehensive range of accountancy, compliance and advisory services.

Progressing through three roles within the Accountancy Practice, moving to more senior positions and qualifying as an accountant with ACCA in 2009.

HMRC's Fast Track Programme (now Civil Service Fast Stream) was a development programme presenting diverse opportunities in many aspects of HMRC's wide ranging responsibilities. The Fast Track Programme was established in the expectation that individuals within the scheme would become leaders with the potential to progress to even more influential roles within the Civil Service.Selected from thousands or applicants (approx. 20 got through) I was positioned in a rotation of roles including management of a team of Anti-Smuggling Officers at Heathrow Airport, followed by working with statistics and risk management in the Finance & Performance Management section of HMRC's Information Management Solutions department, based at Whitehall. Finally, I completed a position in policy creation and development within Benefits & Credits - Tax Credits, also at Whitehall. During my time with HMRC I part qualified as an Accountant with ACCA, before ultimately deciding to move into Practice to complete my qualification.
